Speech to the Resource Development Council
November 15, 2006

Note: This is a copy of her speech, as provided

Thank you Jake for the kind words.  Good afternoon.  I plan to keep my comments short because I view this session as an opportunity to honor Jake.

It is quite a pleasure to be before the Resource Development Council today and somewhat humbling to have the title of the presentation as “Passing the Baton….” Because that means it is real.

I am both saddened and excited by the prospects of the next few months; I am saddened that Jake’s tenure with ASRC is coming to a close.  Jake has been such a strong stable leader to ASRC over the years.  Without Jake's vision and the strength to see that vision through ASRC would not be the corporation it is today.  I have worked with and mentored under Jake for many years now and I will miss him tremendously.  But I am also excited; I am excited for Jake to finally be able to relax and retire while he is still in his prime.  I am excited about the future because I know Jake’s commitment to our people will mean he will always be around to help us realize upon our goals and dreams.  And I am excited about ASRC - its potential and its future.

Under Jake’s guidance ASRC has grown from an idea that took an act of Congress to realize into the $1.5 billion company we are today.  We are on very firm financial footing and are on the verge of some truly great things.  What successor could ask for more?  Thank you Jake for leaving such a legacy with ASRC it truly is an amazing accomplishment.

I too want thank the RDC for this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you in this forum.  I know one of the things that industry counts on is a climate of stability and ASRC has had consistent, stable management since the beginning.  I don’t expect that to change, so rest assured.   While I plan to focus internally at ASRC toward rationalizing our portfolio and there are sure to be some changes made while we go through that process I do not see any immediate issues that will affect our external relations.  I realize that ASRC and the resource development industry are intricately tied and so you will not see any actions take place that will adversely affect your businesses.  Of course I can’t say right here, right now that some of the actions coming from ASRC in the future won’t have any affect on you I promise that I we will try to affect you only in a positive manner.  I want to find ways to work toward an even higher win-win strategy than we currently enjoy.

I look forward to optimizing our subsidiary operations that will provide you, our clients, better attention and higher quality services in the future.  I look forward to forming additional partnerships for exploration similar to our Strategic Alliance with BP and our equity partnership with Anadarko.  I look forward to meeting all you and your companies individually to discuss strategies moving forward and how we can better become true partners.

Lastly, I heard Jake’s challenge to work towards higher community sustainability for our communities across the North Slope who are impacted by the past, current and future resource development projects.
