David Lawrence, Executive Vice President
Exploration, Royal Dutch Shell

David Lawrence is Executive Vice President Exploration for Shell. He was
appointed to this position in March 2006.

From June 2004 to March 2006 David was Executive Vice President Group
Investor Relations and from 2002 to June 2004 he was Vice President
Corporate Strategy for Shell, responsible for Group strategy, planning,
portfolio and competitive intelligence.

Prior to this he was Vice President Exploration and Development for Shell
Exploration and Production Company in the US.

In his career with Shell, he has held a variety of leadership positions in
Exploration and Production with responsibilities for exploration,
development, production, commercial and research activities.

David began his career with Shell in Houston in 1984 in the Global Geology
research section.

Before David joined Shell, he evaluated coal resources for the US Geological
Survey in Wyoming, explored for uranium with Plateau Resources in Colorado
and Utah, and taught at Yavapai College in Arizona. He received his Ph.D. in
Geology and Geophysics from Yale University in 1984.

In addition to his position in Shell David has held numerous leadership
roles in industry and civic organisations. He currently serves on the Board
of the National Ocean Industry Association. David is a recipient of the
Meritorious Service Award from the American Petroleum Institute and received
the 1992 Wallace Pratt Memorial Award for best paper in the AAPG bulletin.
He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the
European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE) 2009 Annual
Conference Amsterdam.
