Re: Donlin Gold EIS Scoping

Dear Mr. Kuhle:

My name is Larry Houle and I live in Anchorage. I am a 44-year resident of Alaska, having grown up in primarily rural sections of the Kenai Peninsula, I have an appreciation and clear understanding of rural-subsistence Alaska living. A lifestyle that is truly unique and beautiful, yet significantly limited in opportunities for education and financial prosperity.

I am writing today to express my sincere support for the Donlin Gold Project in Southwest Alaska. A project like Donlin Gold can and will be a tremendous economic benefit to Alaska and those communities in the Southwest portion of our State.

A project such as Donlin Gold will produce very long-term opportunities, education and skills for those that live in the region and more than likely allow rural Alaskans to remain and prosper in this beautiful section of our State for generations to come.

I am confident that the very stringent State regulations and the extensive permitting standards will protect the wildlife, environment, human-activity and subsistence resources of the area. I sincerely believe that natural resource projects such as Donlin Gold are the only way to keep rural Alaska viable, thriving and occupied for future generations.

Again, I am writing in support of the Donlin Gold Project as they proceed through the EIS scoping.

Sincerely,
Larry Houle
