EPA Draft Watershed Assessment Hearing
Testimony of Marleanna Hall

View alert or member testimony
Good evening. My name is Marleanna Hall.
Two things for the record: I am not for or against any project that has been discussed tonight, especially one tht hasn't submitted a plan.
Secondly, and more importantly, I, like many people in this room, would rather be with my family visiting from up north. But I'm here because this is important to me.
My message is about the process. The EPA must stop undermining exisiting regulatory processes and avoid setting a dangerous precedent for projects and development in our great state.
Investment in Alaska should not be further jeopardized by federal overreach.
But if the EPA isn't going to halt this so called assessment and allow the exisiting process to play out, it should at minimum extend the comment period by at least 120 days.
Lastly, as a shareholder of BSNC, I hope the EPA doesn't come in and try to preemptively stop any projects in my region.
