RDC Comment Letter:
Support of Enstar Anchor Point Energy GSA

October 16, 2009

Regulatory Commission of Alaska
701 West Eighth Avenue, Suite 300
Anchorage, AK 99501-3469

Dear Commissioners Pickett, Giard, Lisankie, Price, and Wilson:

On behalf of the Resource Development Council for Alaska (RDC), I am writing today to offer my support for Enstar’s request for the Commission to approve the proposed Anchor Point Energy GSA for natural gas deliveries beginning in 2011. This was an arm’s length deal between two parties, negotiated in good faith in the open market. The RCA should support, and in fact encourage, such agreements.

RDC is a statewide business association comprised of individuals and companies from Alaska’s oil and gas, mining, forest products, tourism, and fisheries industries. RDC’s membership includes Alaska Native corporations, local communities, organized labor, and industry support firms. RDC’s purpose is to encourage a strong, diversified private sector in Alaska and expand the state’s economic base through the responsible development of our natural resources.

RDC is extremely supportive of providing opportunities for new players to come into production in Alaska. The addition of new natural gas pipeline mileage will likely encourage further exploration and development. The subsequent jobs that follow will significantly benefit Southcentral Alaska’s economy while providing additional energy supplies to its residents.

Thank you for the opportunity to submit comments.

Sincerely,
Resource Development Council for Alaska, Inc.
