Overview:
The U.S. Department of Energy is accepting comments on the Cook Inlet LNG Export Extension Application. The application, filed jointly by ConocoPhillips Alaska Natural Gas Corporation and Marathon Oil Company, requests authorization to export up to 99 BCF of LNG for 2009-2011.
The RDC Executive Committee voted to support this extension, acknowledging there are other industrial consumers of natural gas in Cook Inlet. As stated in the application, additional Cook Inlet exploration will occur if this extension is granted.
